Mt. Rose in partnership with Project Discovery generously supports Pioneer High School from Carson City in a winter long program that allows high school students to enjoy a learn to ski program. Due to financial and other difficulties these students would never have an opportunity to enjoy the mountain without this program. The smiles on these kids faces, even during the worst weather that Rose can dish out, and with only the Wiz running, is almost always punctuated by gratitude and happiness as you can see below! In some cases, this program has changed lives significantly helping a student that was otherwise failing to raise their grades to the A and B level and consider college when they graduate. Lives change one turn at a time in this program and it has given some students hope for their future where there was none before.
THANK YOU MT. ROSE!
On that note remember that Pinkfest is coming up this weekend!
In other news it did rain during the early morning hours but has since changed to snow which is falling pretty good as of 8:30 this morning. Might be a good sleeper pow day, who knows, although the forecast is for it to taper off this morning and the high winds to continues. Be sure to check lift status before coming up. Have a great day nevertheless.
